RunAsSpc overview
Runas with password and encrypted credentials by RunAsSpc
Run applications as a different user like the standard runas command, including the password and encryption.
Application and account information can be passed directly in plain text or read from an encrypted file.
This encrypted file can be created via the command line using runasspc.exe or through the graphical user interface RunAsSpcAdmin.
RunAsSpc requires no installation and is completely portable, giving you maximum flexibility for any scenario.

Standard users can install programs, drivers, updates, or security patches using an encrypted file configured and created by an administrator.
This encrypted file can be stored on a local computer, network share, USB drive, or sent by email. -
Users often work under an administrator account because a program needs administrator rights.
By using RunAsSpc, a limited user no longer needs to log in as an administrator to run this application. -
Protect your systems from web-based threats.
Running a web browser under an administrator account exposes your network to malware and exploits. With RunAsSpc, users can launch their browser using a restricted account to minimize security risks while keeping the rest of their session intact. - You have to instruct a non-admin user to configure a client computer or to do any other specific administrative task,
without giving them the administrator account login information.
Then simply send them an encrypted file for this task. - You can run a specific application as a different user. This is useful if you need to log into an application with two different accounts in the same Windows session. For example, to perform a task with another account or to cover for a colleague for a while.
- Use RunAsSpc instead of runas /savecred, because the /savecred parameter of runas stores the credentials in Windows so that everyone can use them for all programs at any time.
