Pass a password to runas using RunAsSpc

RunAsSpc works similarly to the standard runas command, but includes a password parameter

Syntax:
>> RunAsSpc.exe /program:"path\yourApp.exe" /user:"anyAccount" /password:"accountPassword" <<

Example:
>> RunAsSpc.exe /program:"c:\windows\system32\regedt32.exe" /user:"admin" /password:"pw" <<
RunAsSpc command line call
There is no security check and the password is in plaintext.

To hide your login credentials, you can create an encrypted file

either via the command line using RunAsSpc.exe or through the graphical user interface RunAsSpcAdmin.exe.
See below under >> Build encrypted files <<

Then you can pass this encrypted file to RunAsSpc.exe as follows:

  1. If the encrypted file is named "crypt.spc", you can start it by double-clicking RunAsSpc.exe in the same directory.
  2. Drag and drop your encrypted file onto RunAsSpc.exe.
  3. Via the command line: >> RunAsSpc.exe /cryptfile:"path\NameOfCryptfile" <<
  4. Create a shortcut or link like: >> c:\path\runasspc.exe /cryptfile:"path\NameOfCryptfile" <<
  5. Set RunAsSpc.exe as the default program for ".spc" files on your system to launch encrypted files with a double-click.
  6. You can also use any other custom file extension for your encrypted files. It just needs to be associated with RunAsSpc.exe when called.

Build encrypted files

First option: via the command line using RunAsSpc.exe.
>> runasspc.exe /cryptfile:"crypt.spc" /program:"prog.exe" /domain:"localhost" /user:"admin" /password:"pass" <<
You can find more examples in the supplied "CommandLineArguments.txt" file, or run "runasspc.exe -h" in the command line for help.
